It is Christmas week, and while many of us are gathering to celebrate the holidays, you are probably looking ahead to your 2017 goals – including your fitness goals. This is the time we all consider what took place in the current year, and what we want to accomplish in the year ahead.
Health and fitness is a topic that’s on everybody’s list. However, it’s an area where many people start with earnest ambitions, and then struggle to keep going. As you contemplate how you’ll improve your body in 2016, here are a few tips to guide your efforts:
Begin by seeing yourself with an improved body for 2016. Imagine yourself developing new habits, and along with them, developing a new appearance. See yourself progressing toward a better body. If you can see it, you can achieve it.
Begin moving. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll begin to see results. Walk a few extra blocks. Take the stairs. Try a short jog in the park. The minute you get started, you’re on your way to results. Being fit is largely about developing consistency.
Consider Health and Body.
Don’t make your goal simply to get into shape, but to be healthy. With that in mind you can develop overall habits of health by engaging in regular exercise, reading food labels, eating smaller portions, adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet, and eliminating excess salt and sugar.
Increase the challenge
Our bodies respond well to the demands we place on them. The result is that we become stronger and more resilient as we ask our bodies to do more. As you feel yourself improving, the time will come to challenge yourself with more demanding exercises. Learn to mix it up and in doing so, you’ll activate improvements to your body that were once just a fantasy.
